Just some notes for the run-x fanatics.
in south africa the car was released as the RunX , in some countrys it was called the Allex and most countrys called the corolla, and i think in japan its original name is the Z Aerotourer or corolla Z Aerotourer,
its 1796 cc Bore is 82 mm and the stroke is 85 mm
141 kW (189 hp) 181N·m Torque
Compression ratio is 11.5:1
wiki pedia claims it features forged steel connecting rods.
i have nothing to back this up by but its possible because its high revving.
Some countrys have produced the TSPORT or Corolla Compressor and Lotus Exige S add a supercharger with intercooler to achieve 225 hp (168 kW), while the Exige 240R's supercharger increases output to 240 hp (179 kW)
the 2ZZ-GE utilizes a dual camshaft profile system (the "L" in VVTL-i, known by enthusiasts as "lift") to produce the added power without an increase in displacement or forced induction
The head basically has a cam that has two stages, at 6200 or 5800rpm
the HIGH CAM Lobes activate...heres the specs on what goes on.
------------------Intake -----------------Exhaust
------------------Duration---Valve lift----Duration---Valve lift
Low Cam----------228°-------7.6mm---------228°-------7.6mm
High Cam---------292°-------11.2mm--------276°-------10.0mm
take note how split cams make good power due to over lap?
a 16/20 degree split of duration in the cams make better
in my personal opinion....
This engine is normally called the 2Z dont mistaken it with the 2JZ supra engine,
some people say its 20v, its a 1.8L 16v Single throttle.
